This notice explains how the Stratton Law website handles consultation enquiries. Please keep an initial enquiry brief and avoid sending sensitive facts or documents. Submitting a form does not itself create a lawyer-client relationship.

Information you provide

The consultation form asks for your name, email address, phone number and a message. These details allow the firm to receive your enquiry and contact you about the consultation you requested.

How the firm uses your enquiry

Within Stratton Law, only Karandeep Sahi reads consultation enquiries. The firm uses them only to respond and assess potential representation, not for marketing.

How your enquiry reaches the firm

The website is hosted through ChatGPT Sites. When you submit the form, its server sends the information through Resend, an email delivery service, to the firm’s Microsoft 365 mailbox at karandeep@strattonlaw.ca. Your email address is used as the reply address so the firm can respond to you.

The form does not save the message body in the website’s database or in your browser’s local storage. This does not mean that the information is immediately deleted from email services, mailboxes or other firm records.

Storage and retention

The firm keeps consultation enquiries in Outlook, using its Microsoft 365 mailbox, and does not copy them into other software or files. Enquiries from people who do not become clients are currently kept indefinitely; there is no scheduled deletion period. This describes the firm’s current practice, not a legally required retention period.

Service providers process information as part of hosting the website and delivering and storing email. Their service settings and terms also affect retention of information in their systems. This notice concerns website enquiries, rather than the retention of a retained client’s legal file.

Website operation and safeguards

The website uses HTTPS, input validation and automated checks to help protect the enquiry form. It uses protected identifiers derived from an IP address and email address, together with submission counts and expiry times, to limit repeated requests. These rate-limit records do not contain the enquiry message.

Hosting and email providers also process technical information needed to operate their services. ChatGPT Sites provides traffic analytics. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Privacy questions

You may also contact the firm about withdrawing consent. Requests are subject to applicable legal and professional obligations; deletion is not automatic.

Please ask the firm how to provide detailed or sensitive documents rather than including them in the initial form.
